Salim, Abdul Rashid Salman Khan is an Indian actor, producer, and television personality who was born on December 27, 1965. He mostly works in Hindi films. Khan has won many accolades throughout the course of a three-decade career, including two Filmfare Awards for acting and two National Film Awards for producing. One of the most financially successful performers in Indian film, he is mentioned in the press. Khan was listed as the highest-paid celebrity in the world by Forbes in both 2015 and 2018, the latter year seeing him classified as the highest-paid Indian.
In 1988, Khan made his screen debut in the drama Biwi Ho To Aisi. Two years later, in 1989, he had his breakthrough in the romantic film Maine Pyar Kiya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. He made his name in the 1990s with a number of box office hits, including as the action movie Karan Arjun (1995), the comedy Biwi No.1 (1999), and Barjatya's family dramas Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). Khan experienced a downturn in his career during the 2000s, but he rebounded in the 2010s, starring in dramas like Sultan (2016) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), as well as top-grossing action films Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), Kick (2014), and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).

Early life
Salim, Abdul Rashid Screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Sushila Charak, who took on the name Salma, are the parents of Salman Khan, the eldest of their children. Khan was raised in both religions after being born on December 27, 1965, to a Hindu mother and Muslim father. The children's connection with their father deteriorated after Salim married the actress Helen in 1981 and didn't improve for years.
Although Jasim Khan claims in his biography of Salman Khan that his ancestors were members of the Akuzai sub-tribe of the Yusufzai Pashtuns from Malakand in the Swat valley of North-West Frontier Province, British India (present-day Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan), Salman Khan's paternal great-grandparents are thought to have been Alakozai Pashtuns from Afghanistan who immigrated to Indore State, Indore Residency (now in Madhya Pradesh), British India in the mid-1800s. The Diler Jung award of the Holkar era was given to his ancestor Abdul Rashid Khan, a deputy inspector general of the state of Indore. Khan's father, Dogra Rajput Baldev Singh Charak, hails from Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir; his mother, a Marathi, is from Maharashtra. Khan's mother works as a housewife. Khan speaks Marathi as well.
Career
In the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi, Khan starred in a supporting role before making his acting debut. He portrayed the title character in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), a romantic family drama directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya that went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year. It got him a nomination for Best Male Debut at Filmfare as well as his first nomination for Best Actor. Maine Pyar Kiya was called Te Amo in Spanish, When Love Calls in English, and Prema Paavuraalu in Telugu.
Three box office disasters in 1991, Patthar Ke Phool, Love, and Kurbaan, following the 1990 release of one successful movie starring Khan Baaghi. Khan later starred alongside Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the romance drama Saajan that same year. He had appearances in the 1992 films Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, Jaagruti, Nishchaiy, and Suryavanshi. Due to the failure of all four of his pictures at the box office, it was not a good year for him.
Private Life
Khan lives in Bandra, Mumbai, in the Galaxy Apartments. Additionally, he owns a 150-acre estate in Panvel that features three cottages, a gym, and a swimming pool. He follows a rigorous routine and is passionate about exercise. Khan is a single man. He started dating Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai in 1999, and until their separation in 2001, their relationship was well publicised in the media. Actress Katrina Kaif and Khan began dating. Following years of rumours, Kaif acknowledged in a 2011 interview that she and Khan had a meaningful relationship for a number of years, but that it ended in 2010. Khan was also involved in significant relationships with Sangeeta Bijlani and Somy Ali.
Khan acknowledged in August 2011 that he had trigeminal neuralgia, a face nerve condition that is sometimes referred to as the "suicide disease." The condition is brought on by facial trigeminal nerve irritation. He claimed in an interview that although he had been silently dealing with the agony for the previous seven years, it was now intolerable. He also claimed that it had made his voice considerably harsher. Khan notes that he is both a Muslim and a Hindu, saying, "I'm both Muslim and Hindu. I'm an Indian named Bharatiya. "My mother is Hindu, and my father is Muslim," he clarified.
