Italian social media star Khabane "Khaby" Lame was born in Senegal on March 9, 2000. His TikTok films, in which he subtly makes fun of extremely intricate "life hack" videos, are well-known. He was included on Forbes' 30 Under 30 and Fortune's 40 Under 40 lists in 2022. He is the most followed user on TikTok as of 2023. When he was a year old, his family relocated to a public housing project in Chivasso, Italy. He is the brother of three. Up to the age of fourteen, he attended Italian schools. At that point, his parents made the decision to temporarily transfer him to a Quranic school close to Dakar. Lame was employed as a CNC machine operator in a plant close to Turin until her layoff in March 2020.
Career
Following his dismissal amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Lame started sharing content on TikTok. In his early films, he was shown playing computer games and dancing. He gained notoriety by responding to videos showing intricate "life hacks" on TikTok using the "duet" and "stitch" capabilities. In his responses, he completes the identical chore in a straightforward manner without uttering a word and then makes his signature hand gesture. He overtook Gianluca Vacchi in April 2021 to become the most followed Italian on TikTok. He then overtook Addison Rae to rank as the second most followed user overall. Lame made an appearance as a co-star in the August 2021 announcement of Manuel Locatelli by Juventus F.C.
He was a special guest at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021, when Xavier Giannoli's French film Lost Illusions had its world premiere. Lame and Hugo Boss inked a multi-year relationship in January 2022, and Lame was highlighted in the #BeYourOwnBoss campaign.
With 142.1 million followers on June 22, 2022, Lame surpassed Charli D'Amelio to take the top spot as TikTok's most followed creator. Alongside Rithy Panh, Lame served as a juror for the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where he assessed TikTok short films.
In 2023, he served as a juror on the TV programme Italia's Got Talent. As part of the chapter 4, season 4 battle pass, Lame was released as a cosmetic to the 2017 video game Fortnite Battle Royale in August 2023.
Individual Life
Khaby Lame follows Islam as a religion. In October 2020, he declared his engagement to Zaira Nucci. Lame speaks Italian fluently and has resided in Italy since he was a baby. Prior to August 2022, when Italian Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior Carlo Sibilia declared that he would be granted citizenship, he was a Senegalese citizen residing in Milan with his agent. Lame claimed to have "always felt Italian" and to have "did not need a piece of paper" to declare himself as such in the past.
