In the action romance Phool Aur Kaante, he made his professional debut with Madhoo and won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Devgn did a split in his first scene, balancing between two bikes. Devgn appeared in the romantic action movie Dilwale, directed by Harry Baweja, in 1994. He performed as the intellectually disabled guy Arun Saxena. The film ranked eighth in terms of total revenue for the entire year. Kanoon was his next release, followed by Kuku Kohli's Suhaag starring Akshay Kumar. The movie revolved on two pals. Devgn portrayed Malhotra/Ajay Sharma. The seventh-highest earning film of the year was Suhaag. Vijaypath was his next movie. Devgn turned down the Vijaypath shoot dates since they conflicted with Karan Arjun's. The eighth-highest earning movie of the year was Vijaypath.
