Indian actor and singer Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, better known by his stage name Vijay, was born on June 22, 1974. He is primarily employed in Tamil movies. He is one of the top paid actors in India and has appeared seven times in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list. In 67 films, he has portrayed the starring role. Vijay, also known as Thalapathy, has a sizable fan base throughout the world. Among the many honours he has received are the South Indian International Movie Award and the Osaka Best Actor Award. He rose to become India's highest-paid actor in 2023.
Early Life And Career
His mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar, is a carnatic vocalist and playback singer, while his father, S. A. Chandrasekhar, is a Tamil film director. His mother is Hindu, and his father is Christian. At twelve years old, Vijay was baptised. Vidhya, Vijay's sister, passed away when she was just two years old.

With the help of actor-producer P. S. Veerappa, Vijay made his film debut at the age of ten in Vetri (1984), where he received his first pay of ₹500 rupees. After that, he appeared in films including Kudumbam (1984), Vasantha Raagam (1986), Sattam Oru Vilayaattu (1987), and Ithu Engal Neethi (1988) as a kid actor. He also costarred with Rajinikanth, the main actor, in Naan Sigappu Manithan (1985). At the age of 18, Vijay made his feature debut in Naalaiya Theerpu (1992). After that, Vijay starred in the films Coimbatore Mappillai, Rasigan, Deva, and Sendhoorapandi. Despite receiving little critical recognition, they were commercially successful.
Personal Life
On August 25, 1999, Vijay wed Sri Lankan Tamil Sangeetha Sornalingam, whom he had met in the UK. They are parents of two kids. In Vettaikaaran (2009), Vijay's son Jason Sanjay made a brief cameo alongside his father, while in Theri (2016), his daughter played a little role as her father's pre-teen daughter.
