On August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Christopher Hemsworth was born into a family consisting of social services counsellor Craig Hemsworth and English teacher Leonie.He is the second of three boys; the other two, Luke and Liam, are also actors. On his paternal side, he is descended from English, Scottish, and German immigrants; his maternal grandpa was a Dutch immigrant, and his maternal grandmother is Irish. He was raised in Bulman, Northern Territory, and in Melbourne's Outback. According to him, "My first memories are from the cattle stations in the Outback. After that, we moved back to Melbourne, went back to the Outback, and then relocated again."
Early Life And Career
Before starting a film career in Hollywood, he gained notoriety for his role as Kim Hyde in the Australian television series Home and Away (2004–2007). Hemsworth first played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the 2011 movie of the same name. He most recently returned to the character in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), which made him one of the highest-paid actors in the world. His other credits in films include the sci-fi thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009), the comedy Ghostbusters (2016), the action pictures Star Trek (2009), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and its follow-up The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016), Red Dawn (2012), Blackhat (2015), Men in Black: International (2019), and Extraction (2020).
Hemsworth began his career by making cameos in a number of TV shows. Hemsworth appeared in one episode of Marshall Law and two episodes of the soap opera series Neighbours in 2002, in addition to playing King Arthur in two episodes of the fantasy television series Guinevere Jones. He made an appearance on an episode of The Saddle Club the following year. Hemsworth tried out for the Australian serial show Home and Away in 2004 with hopes of playing Robbie Hunter. Although he was not cast for the role, he was later asked back to play Kim Hyde. He relocated to Sydney to become a cast member, and he starred in 171 episodes of the show. On July 3, 2007, he departed from the Home and Away cast.
Personal Life
Hemsworth met Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky through mutual representation, and the two started dating in early 2010. December 2010 saw their marriage. India Rose, the couple's daughter, was born in May 2012, and Sasha and Tristan, their twin sons, were born in March 2014. The family relocated to Byron Bay, New South Wales, in his home Australia in 2015 from Los Angeles. Thalison Soares teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu to Hemsworth's kids, and he frequently takes them to compete in national competitions. A Member of the Order of Australia, Hemsworth was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours for 2021.
